Myths of Social Media Debunked
Myth by R. Hess

Author Michael Stelzner, has put together an interesting report based on a survey of 900 marketers. The report looks at the state of social media marketing. The link at the bottom of this post takes you to the source which includes a video by Stelzner about  his in-depth report, “Social Media Marketing Industry Report”

Interesting stats from the report include:

  • 88% indicated they were employing social media for marketing purposes

Apple just became more valuable than Microsoft.

by Alec
Apple Surpasses Microsoft as Most Valuable Technology Company. Apple, the maker of iPods, iPhones and iPads, overtook Microsoft, the computer software giant, on Wednesday to become the world’s most valuable technology company. In intraday trading this afternoon, Apple shares rose 1.8 percent, which gave the company a value of $227.1billion, while Microsoft’s value is about $226.3 billion. This changing of the guard caps one of the most stunning turnarounds in business history, as Apple had been given up for dead only a decade earlier.

iPhone Apps: VALUABLE

by Alec

Apple’s iPhone is selling like hotcakes. The device is hugely popular and it is only picking up steam.

The company sold 8.75 million iPhones in the quarter for 131% growth year-over-year!

What does this say to me? iPhone Apps are HUGELY valuable. Your company will benefit if it can create an app people want to carry around with them (and the bar is not very high as there is no real limit to the amount of apps one can put on their iPhone).

How does one go about getting an App made? Send me an email, alec@fullvoicemedia.com, and we can discuss. Hope to hear from you.

AP Technology Writer  Mar 30, 3:33 PM EDT

NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook is about to change the way it asks its users to connect to brands and celebrities on the site. Rather than ask people to “become a fan” of say, Starbucks or Lady Gaga, Facebook will instead let users click that they like the subject.

Facebook already lets people show that they like comments or pictures posted on the site, (more…)
